Description:

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of their store, ensuring smooth and effective functioning. This includes managing all aspects of store operations such as scheduling, customer service, marketing, merchandising, inventory, financial reporting, and safety. The role involves managing, developing, and motivating store employees, as well as developing business strategies to meet goals and increase sales in a competitive marketplace. The goal is to grow the company's market share by selling to large, commercial users such as paint contractors, along with retail customers.

This position typically requires a 48-hour workweek, which may include evenings and weekends. It is eligible for performance-based bonuses and various benefits, including health coverage (medical, dental, vision), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), disability coverage, retirement plans, and a generous paid time off package, including personal leave, parental leave, medical leave, vacation, and holidays.

Job duties involve contact with customers, including minors, and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise, and other valuables. Access may be supervised or unsupervised. The company conducts criminal background checks to ensure safety and protect its operations and reputation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Legally authorized to work without sponsorship
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver's License
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs on occasion
  • At least one year of leadership or supervisory experience
  • At least one year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience selling paint and related products
  • Experience with timekeeping or CRM systems
  • Associate degree or higher in business, sales, or marketing
  • Experience as an Assistant Store or Branch Operations Manager at Sherwin-Williams
  • Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
  • Multilingual abilities, especially in Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to increase sales and profitability
  • Train, motivate, mentor, and provide feedback to staff to meet sales goals
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through excellent service
  • Maintain comprehensive product knowledge for effective customer recommendations
  • Build positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers
  • Complete store administration tasks
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including safety and security
  • Maintain store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Provide accurate and timely reports
  • Manage employee training, development, performance, and corrective actions
  • Address and resolve customer and employee complaints
  • Collaborate with Sales Reps for outside sales efforts to increase market share
