Maintenance Mechanic Manager

About This Role

GU Energy Labs is a family-owned, market-leading global sports nutrition brand, seeking a Maintenance Manager with mechanical expertise to join our team!

This role is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation of machinery and equipment, directly supporting our commitment to quality and performance. Experience with horizontal form-seal pouching lines or similar food manufacturing equipment is required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions via root-cause analysis, perform repairs, and assign tasks to mechanics.
  • Manage maintenance work orders in REDZONE, ensuring machinery operates efficiently while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

What You Will Do

  • Lead troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and PLC systems to resolve production issues and reduce downtime.
  • Perform failure analysis and root cause investigations, implementing corrective actions for long-term reliability.
  • Train and mentor technicians and production staff on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
  • Develop and execute proactive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment performance and safety.
  • Oversee repairs and system upgrades, ensuring compliance with GMP, OSHA, FDA, EPA, and HACCP standards.
  • Manage inventory, parts tracking, vendor relationships, and assist in budgeting.
  • Analyze equipment data to identify improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all maintenance activities, ensuring audit readiness.
  • Lead capital projects and apply Lean principles to improve equipment effectiveness.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field, or technical certification.
  • At least 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, with 3+ years in leadership.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and interpret equipment manuals.
  • Experience with GMP and safety standards, especially in food manufacturing or packaging equipment.
