UC Berkeley Youth Recreation leads in providing impactful summer camps for kids of all ages, on campus for over 60 years, offering high-caliber programs.
Camp Leads provide leadership for seasonal camp programs, managing staff, developing and implementing programs, and communicating with families. They are part of the seasonal leadership team, reporting to the Youth Camps Supervisor.
They work on varied, complex tasks, applying specialized skills, and often adapt procedures to meet needs. They perform broad assignments under general supervision, using experience and judgment to plan and execute tasks.
Camp Leads are skilled leaders in recreational or sports programs, creating and implementing activities for all ages, mentoring other instructors, and demonstrating discretion and initiative.
