My client, a prominent, high-growth startup in the Bay Area, is seeking a talented Founding Engineer.

You will play a critical role in defining the technical direction and building the company's infrastructure. This hands-on role involves liaising with multiple stakeholders and covering various parts of the tech stack.

Compensation includes $200K - $300K salary plus equity (potentially higher for exceptional candidates).

Duties of the Founding Software Engineer

• Define the technical roadmap and ensure delivery aligned with business goals.
• Maintain development processes, tools, and workflows.
• Collaborate closely with the team to design and implement backend, frontend, and infrastructure components.
• Act as a long-term technical leader, owning critical technology and architecture decisions.
• Help define and execute the technical roadmap to meet business objectives.
• Invent, extend, and maintain development processes, tools, and workflows.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python, with familiarity in at least one Python backend framework.
• 3+ years of experience as a full-stack or backend engineer, focusing on building scalable applications.
• Proficiency in at least one modern frontend framework; experience with Typescript, React, or Next.js preferred.
• Experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.
• Experience with SQL or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration systems like Kubernetes is advantageous.
