Senior Manager - Fleet Services - Maintenance & Damage

Major Responsibility: Responsible for the overall performance of the fleet services function, including servicing, vehicle damage repair, and in-fleeting/de-fleeting of rental vehicles to maximize fleet utilization and profitability for the City/District.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Develop, implement, and communicate operating plans to maximize fleet utilization according to business and company guidelines, overseeing maintenance, repair, reconditioning, in-fleeting of new and used vehicles, and de-fleeting to sale, auction, or other channels.
  2. Manage team performance by setting, communicating, monitoring, and updating goals related to key performance indicators such as technician productivity, out-of-service percentage, overdue idle cars, vendor cycle time, days to deletion, and quality grades.
  3. Forecast, budget, and manage financial drivers including S&W per day, warranty recovery, and costs per estimate and deletion.
  4. Coordinate vehicle damage appraisals, repairs, and maintenance activities, including documentation and ordering of parts, tools, and supplies.
  5. Oversee vendor relationships and workload assignments, ensuring service levels and policies are met.
  6. At bus locations, supervise the repair and maintenance of all buses.
  7. Collaborate with Fleet owners, District/City Managers, and external partners to prioritize workloads based on business objectives.

Employee Management:

  • Handle all aspects of employee lifecycle management, including hiring, onboarding, training, recognition, and performance evaluation to foster a high-performance culture.
  • Manage employee relations and ensure HR policies are applied consistently and fairly, partnering with HR where needed.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and practices.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; 2-4 year college degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of management experience in related fields such as rental cars, automotive shops, or service industries
  • Valid driver's license and successful background check
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, nights, or weekends as needed
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and oversee multiple work areas
