CalWest Required Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree and/or other educational requirements listed on the job description
Requisite skills commensurate with the position
A reasonable commuting distance to the CalWest client school, or a willingness to relocate
Authorization to live and work in the United States
Client School Preferred Qualifications
A four-year undergraduate degree
At least 3+ years of teaching experience is preferred, but candidates with fewer years will also be considered
Proficiency in Google Suite and familiarity with PC and Mac platforms, LMS, and SMS systems
Clearance through LiveScan fingerprinting and TB risk assessment are required, along with completion of first aid/CPR, mandated reporter, anti-harassment, work violence prevention, and bloodborne pathogen trainings, which are provided and paid for by the school
Responsibilities
Collaboratively designing and aligning curriculum with course teams, department goals, and the school's mission
Designing skills-based formative and summative assessments
Grading student work and providing timely feedback
Communicating regularly with students, parents, guardians, and advisors about student progress
Holding one-on-one student meetings as needed
Scheduling and attending course team meetings
Attending weekly staffulty or department meetings on Tuesday afternoons
Serving as an advisor to a group of 8-10 students, working with the same group for four years
Meeting weekly with the advisory group for 25 minutes
Chaperoning grade-level and special events
Participating in grade-level orientation before classes begin
Acting as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians
