Job Description

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. This role is based in our San Francisco or Mountain View location.

We are looking for a Director of Strategic Finance to partner with top executives in our Member & Customer Success organization – a Finance leader who is adept at advising and influencing key leaders on business growth, investment tradeoffs, resource management, organizational structure and strategic direction.

In this role, you will be the strategic financial advisor to the VP of the MCS organization (teams that handle post-sales member & customer support). You will partner with sales leadership, including their direct and cross functional support teams, to identify and recommend growth & leverage opportunities to shape the monetization trajectory of LinkedIn. You will be directly responsible for financial planning, target-setting, and forecasting of headcount and opex; and strategic management of our business through assessing investment asks and portfolio managing our P&L. As a pivotal partner to the MCS teams, the clarity, energy and results you deliver will be visible across the Global Business Organization's leadership team. This is a people management role, responsible for building and developing a high-performing team of Strategic Finance professionals, and will report to the Senior Director of GTM Horizontals Strategic Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify new opportunities for growth and leverage, make novel strategic recommendations, and drive strategy development for Member & Customer Success.
  • Drive development of collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams and internal Strategic Finance partners to provide a metrics-oriented perspective through a cross-functional lens.
  • Provide management with insights into drivers of headcount, expense, risks and opportunities.
  • Take a leadership role in the coordination of the various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly/monthly forecasts, weekly outlooks).
  • Leverage insights, data, internal/external trends, and narratives to influence stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Drive alignment by synthesizing problems and communicate point of view to support decision-making on strategic issues affecting the function/line of business/organization.
  • Serve as a resource for stakeholders and leadership across functions/lines of business/organizations to answer a wide variety of complex questions.
  • Lead and develop multiple complex workstreams, projects, or operational processes within the MCS organization.
  • Anticipate obstacles and leverage expertise to recommend and drive implementation of innovative solutions.
  • Foster an environment of excellence and inclusivity within the team, providing mentorship and actionable feedback in alignment with the culture and value of the organization, including people development and diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field AND minimum 10 years of experience in finance, finance accounting, management consulting, investment banking, or related field OR Equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of people management experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in the technology industry.
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate thought-leadership, teamwork, anticipate business needs, and manage relationships with senior stakeholders.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $171,000 to $278,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
