Summary

Under the direction of the Manager of Building Services and/or Director of Maintenance, installs, maintains, paints, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems on the grounds and structures of facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service to residents, families, co-workers, and vendors.
• Be competent in skills such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, metal fabrication, welding, boiler systems, hydraulic systems, or HVAC.
• Repair and install plumbing, water heaters, gas furnace, and other apparatus.
• Dismantle defective machines and install new or repaired parts.
• Maintain physical structures of the establishment.
• Use machine tools to repair or fabricate parts and equipment.
• Perform repairs and refurbishments for resident accommodations and structures.
• Complete work orders and special projects.
• Follow safety standards, wear PPE, and report hazards.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and deal with standardized problems.
• Associate's degree or equivalent qualifications.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Requires walking, handling objects, talking, and occasional lifting up to 65 pounds. Work may be outdoors, near moving parts, or exposed to chemicals and noise.
