Overview

Based in South San Francisco, Cafe X designs, builds, and operates Robotic Coffee Bars—the fastest, most advanced fully automated café system.Cafe X currently operates our own Robotic Coffee Bar systems at SFO and the San Francisco Bay Area, serving a thoughtfully curated specialty coffee menu. Cafe X also offers our Robotic Coffee Bar systems to other businesses, where we provide ongoing training and technical support.

Responsibilities

Working on our small team at Café X offers hands-on exposure to a wide range of fields, including engineering, manufacturing, construction, technical and customer support, product development, design, and culinary aspects like recipe development, testing, and crafting drinks, syrups, and cold brews.The primary focus of this position is to participate in daily operations of our Robotic Coffee Bars at SFO and the Bay Area. Daily operations involve packing and delivery of supplies, restocking, cleaning, and testing.Cafe X takes pride in unreasonably well-maintaining and immaculate cleanliness of our Robotic Coffee Bars. This role will only be a good fit if the candidate genuinely enjoys cleaning (e.g. car detailing, organizing your home, restoring valuable items, deep cleaning, etc.). In short, only apply if you are the type of person who will be bothered by fingerprints on a computer screen, and feel the need to wipe them off.

Main responsibilities:

• Cleaning and restocking coffee bars
• Preparing and moving supplies between warehouse and coffee bar sites
• Washing and sanitizing coffee equipment
• Packaging pastries
• Preparing kegs of cold brew, lemonades, etc
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting coffee bar issues
• Maintaining the Operations team work area
• Organizing and maintaining supply room
• Reporting feedback from clients/customers

Additional responsibilities:

• Cleaning and organizing workshop areas
• Assisting with new machines builds
• Refurbishing older machine parts
• Minor repairs on coffee machines
• Additional tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal and communication skills

• High cleanliness standards
• Physical stamina and dexterity to handle and move heavy equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
• Follow safety and security procedures
• Pass background checks and security modules per client site
• Valid CA drivers license
  • Clean driving record
• Regular weekend availability

Preferred Qualifications:

• Food service experience
  • Food safety certification
• Barista experience
• Customer service experience
• Experience with tools and machine components
• Enjoys coffee

Compensation:

• Starting pay $21 / hr
  • Overtime and Holiday pay available
