Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will diagnose, repair, maintain, and perform general basic maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical tasks. They will provide advice to facility leadership on continuous improvement efforts, including health, safety, and environmental issues. The candidate should be able to use a variety of tools, hand equipment, and machinery with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand constantly
  • Walk frequently
  • Reach and twist/turn with hands and arms
  • Climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus

Environmental Factors

  • Work in an environment with high plant matter and pollen, with temperature and humidity variations. Use protective gear, including eye and ear protection. Exposure to chemicals like bleach and repetitive movements may occur. Must be comfortable working under these conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Perform building and grounds maintenance, including waste disposal and safety hazard removal.
  • Advise on technical specifications for new and existing equipment, including safety and environmental improvements.
  • Coordinate with third-party contractors and vendors.
  • Handle emergency service calls after hours.
  • Monitor premises and equipment, reporting repairs or hazards.
  • Operate hand tools and equipment, including forklifts.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be 21 or older and pass a background check.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical maintenance.
  • Proficient with maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, organized, able to work independently.
  • Strong service and quality focus.
  • Able to stand, walk, climb, or balance for long periods; lift 20-50 pounds regularly.
