About This Role

As the Lifecycle Management (LCM) & Competitive Strategy Lead, Nephrology, you will lead the LCM and Competitive Readiness teams, sub-teams of the Nephrology Product Development and Commercialization (PDC) team. You will be the single point of accountability to drive the long-term success of Biogen's asset in development across multiple Nephrology indications through focused efforts on LCM and competitive readiness.

You will be accountable for leading an integrated cross-functional team to develop and execute the LCM and competitive readiness strategy and its associated annual operating plan, along with strategic priorities to enable sustainable market growth for Biogen's asset in development across multiple Nephrology indications globally.

What You'll Do

  1. Lead the cross-functional team and serve as the single point of accountability to develop and execute the LCM and competitive strategy for Biogen's asset in development across multiple Nephrology indications. This includes developing and implementing competitive readiness plans, new indications, formulations, novel biomarkers, and other drivers of growth.
  2. Develop compelling business cases and engage cross-functional experts to develop recommendations for PDC endorsement from executive management.
  3. Coordinate with PDC Lead and Commercial Leads for other indications to maximize the overall value of the asset.
  4. Collaborate with regional and affiliate colleagues to support the vision and strategy for effective launch and patient access in markets worldwide.
  5. Assess the competitive landscape comprehensively and identify opportunities to refine the global LCM strategy amidst rapidly changing market dynamics.
  6. Partner with Global Finance to develop long-range plans, annual operating plans, and assess business opportunities.
  7. Engage with key external stakeholders to incorporate outside perspectives into the plans under consideration.
  8. Lead coordination with Competitive Intelligence and other teams to shape competitive strategy and ensure organizational readiness based on a deep understanding of the external environment and internal strategies.

You are a collaborative leader with strong strategic, financial, and visionary skills to succeed in a fast-paced, complex environment. You have experience leading diverse cross-functional teams across R&D, Regulatory, Clinical Operations, Medical, Value & Access, and Corporate Affairs. You excel at influencing without direct authority, engaging with medical experts, patient advocacy groups, policymakers, and investors to inform LCM strategies. You possess strong leadership, planning, analytical, decision-making, and communication skills, with a proven track record in executing LCM and competitive strategies to support asset growth.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry; rare disease, LCM, and consulting experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Global or affiliate commercial experience.
  • Ability to lead through influence, navigate ambiguity, and deliver results.
  • Experience working directly with or within R&D functions.
  • Experience in entrepreneurial operating environments.
  • Strong scientific understanding with the ability to extract insights for strategic differentiation.
  • Advanced analytical skills; capable of developing business cases for investment.
