Responsibilities include:

• Installing, configuring, and upgrading Linux/UNIX systems
• Building physical and virtual systems
• Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
• Building and configuring RHEL workstations for lab instrumentation
• Ensuring security and compliance of Linux systems
• Collaborating with vendors and scientists to optimize solutions

Qualifications:

• Experience with Linux RHEL 8/9 in an enterprise environment
• Knowledge of configuration management tools like Cobbler, Chef
• Red Hat certification or equivalent experience
• Support experience with RHEL systems
• Optional: VMWare knowledge
• Educational background in a scientific or technical field
• Minimum 3 years in Linux/Unix administration and IT support

The role offers a pay rate of $50-$56/hr based on experience, with a 6-month contract. It requires onsite presence in Emeryville, CA.
