AHD Manager, Rehabilitation, Community Hospitals

SUMMARY: The AHD Manager, Rehabilitation, Community Hospitals oversees the Rehabilitation staff to ensure high-quality patient services. They implement hospital policies, participate in performance improvement activities, and ensure compliance with State and Federal regulations, aligning with Alameda Hospital's objectives. They provide safe, effective, and cost-efficient care and perform related duties as needed.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare required reports promptly.
  • Provide continuing education, orientation, and in-service training for department staff. Conduct annual staff evaluations to ensure competency.
  • Oversee patient evaluation and treatment, recording progress per visit or daily.
  • Recommend staffing levels, equipment, facilities, and resources needed for services, maintaining quality control programs.
  • Establish and maintain efficient scheduling systems for inpatient and outpatient services, continuously seeking performance improvements.
  • Participate in hospital committees and coordinate with management and other departments for integrated service delivery.
  • Stay informed about new clinical practices, procedures, and regulations affecting Physical and Occupational Therapy, as well as Speech/Language Pathology.

Qualifications include a combination of education and experience providing the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities, along with any required licenses or certifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Rehabilitation-related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years in an acute care/rehabilitation department serving a diverse patient population.
  • Leadership: At least 2 years of staff supervision or leadership experience preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Certified BLS Healthcare Provider and a California license to practice in a rehabilitation-related field (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Therapy).
