$115,492.00/yr - $140,400.00/yr

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is seeking a Survey Associate within our Design & Construction division. The role involves supervising a survey party, following established surveying methods, and collaborating with staff, contractors, and others on survey projects. Bring your passion for surveying and help us create seamless experiences for millions of travelers!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise survey work, including planning, organizing, assigning tasks, reviewing, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Plan and organize surveying projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and ensure accurate data collection and documentation.
  • Train staff on surveying equipment and procedures, stay updated on surveying techniques and equipment improvements.
  • Coordinate with department staff, contractors, and others to plan survey activities.
  • Interpret maps, drawings, and survey notes to guide survey work.
  • Maintain accurate survey field notes and perform necessary mathematical computations.
  • Manage supplies and equipment needs for the survey team.
  • Use survey software and tools, including AutoCAD, to process and verify survey data.
  • Drive to survey sites as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

1. Six years of verifiable surveying experience, including two years in a role comparable to Class 5312 Survey Assistant II;

OR

2. Bachelor of Science in Geomatics or related field plus two years of relevant experience;

OR

3. Associate of Science in Geomatics or related field plus four years of relevant experience;

OR

4. Valid Land Surveyor-In-Training (LSIT) license issued by the California State Board and four years of relevant experience.

Notes include requirements for related educational fields and valid California driver's license for certain positions.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Trimble equipment and software
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, AutoCAD, and data processing
