Position Summary

The Assistant in Training will handle golf course management aspects, focusing on irrigation, fertilizer/pesticide application, and employee supervision under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendents. Supervises Greenkeepers and Groundkeepers.

Qualifications

• At least one year of golf course greenkeeping experience. Education in Turf Grass Management, Business Administration, or related fields preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Ability to interact professionally with club staff, members, and guests.
• Valid driver license and clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain a California Pesticides License within six months.

Training Provided

• Golf maintenance team management and motivation.
• Scheduling and achieving championship course conditions.
• Irrigation repair, watering techniques, and programming.
• Use of spray and fertilizer equipment, calibration, and rate determination.
• Golf course construction principles and practices.
• Advanced agronomy and turfgrass management.
