Content Area or Department Brief Description:


WestEd's Early Childhood Intervention, Mental Health and Inclusion (ECIMHI) team provides training and technical assistance in policy development, translation of research to practice, systems evaluation, and implementation of evidence-based practices in support of infants, toddlers, young children and their families. The ECIMHI team partners with federal, state, and local education, health, developmental and behavioral/mental health agencies and programs to transform early childhood programs and systems and create deep and lasting impact for children and their families. ECIMHI projects and services utilize research-informed strategies and meaningful stakeholder engagement to build the capacity of systems and service providers within these systems to implement effective procedures, processes and practices that support successful outcomes for vulnerable and underserved populations.


As part of the California Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) Network team, the Reflective Practice Mentor will work alongside the Project Director to co-lead the Reflection Practice and Supervision team responsible for the development and implementation of reflective practice across all tasks on this large-scale, statewide project. A successful candidate will be endorsed by the California Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health as a Reflective Practice Mentor, bringing demonstrated experience providing and receiving reflective practice.


Priority will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience and success navigating programs, services and communities that are often underrepresented in the current infant and early childhood mental health and reflective practice workforce. A successful candidate will bring a unique set of lived, personal experiences that speak to centering different voices and perspectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Apply clinical and reflective practice expertise to the provision of infant and early childhood mental health consultation services, supports and resources for California's child care and early education programs and providers as well as the IECMH Consultant and Reflective Practice Facilitator workforce.

  • Partner in the programmatic design, development and implementation of reflective practice activities across a tiered system of universal, targeted and intensive services and statewide IECMHC workforce capacity building efforts.

  • Support the application and integration of the Diversity Informed Tenets of Infant Mental Health and elements of the Consultative Stance across all deliverables and activities.

  • Facilitate ongoing professional development of project staff who are engaged in reflective practice within their various roles.

  • Provide reflective practice to Reflective Practice Facilitators.


Qualifications:



  • Master's degree in mental health or related field with clinical licensure.

  • Endorsed by the California Center for Infant-Family and Early Childhood Mental Health as a Reflective Practice Mentor (RPM) or Reflective Practice Facilitator II (RPF II) who is RPM eligible.

  • At least 10 years of experience providing/receiving reflective practice/supervision.

  • At least 10 years of experience working within early childhood systems.

  • Ability to work independently and function as part of a dynamic and passionate team.

  • Ability to conduct research to analyze and synthesize information pertinent to specific subject matter.

  • Proficiency with common software applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Box, Smartsheet and Zoom.

  • Ability to travel occasionally.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The full salary range for this position, WestEd level 12, is $120,400 to $188,100, but WestEd does not typically hire at or near the top of the salary range. The typical hiring range for this role is $120,400 to $150,500. The actual offer considers multiple factors, including but not limited to education, experience, internal equity, and other organizational needs.

In addition to the base salary, benefits include:
