Fellowship Manor - Maintenance Assistant/Janitorial - Affordable Housing

JOB SUMMARY:

Keeps the facility in clean and orderly condition by performing cleaning duties and assists with maintenance tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assist maintenance workers with work orders, including light maintenance and renovation of resident units.
2. Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum hallways, stairs, common areas, empty units, elevators, and office spaces.
3. Wax, buff floors, and shampoo carpets.
4. Clean laundry rooms and public restrooms.
5. Empty trash containers, sanitize garbage rooms and shoots.
6. Notify management of repairs needed for lighting, heating, or ventilating equipment.
7. Walk grounds, pick up debris, empty ashtrays, sweep/blow sidewalks, and assist with landscaping maintenance.
8. Assist with scheduled apartment inspections required by regulatory agencies.
9. Help schedule and perform preventive cleaning.
10. Assist with setting up for special events, including tables, chairs, and equipment.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma preferred; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals; write routine reports.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting graphs.
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed instructions; problem-solving skills for standardized situations.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance; lift up to 90 pounds; and have good vision including close, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
