Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience supporting Transportation systems with legacy applications and cloud-based solutions.
• Experience with modernization efforts in Transportation, supporting a transition from legacy to cloud systems.
• Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders, research communities, or executive leaders.
• Ability to travel up to 40% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in technical sales or consulting in cloud computing, data analytics, or Big Data.
• Experience with developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch/real-time event processing, streaming, data processing (ETL/ELT), data migrations, data visualization tools, and data governance on cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with architecture design, implementation, tuning, schema design, and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud computing (infrastructure, storage, platforms, data), and understanding of the cloud market, engaged dynamics, and customer buying behavior.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical architectures.

As an Industry Architect, you will collaborate with sales, engineering, and other teams to identify and pursue growth opportunities within the government sector, helping to expand Google's presence in this market.

The Rapid Innovation Team (RIT) focuses on bringing Google's culture of innovation to our customers by solving mission challenges and scaling solutions. You will play a key role in supporting government and educational institutions' digital transformation efforts.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$218,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary specifics depend on role, level, location, skills, experience, and education.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales and Engineering on solution design, translating business challenges into technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to apply existing solutions to new challenges within Transportation.
• Build trust and relationships with stakeholders in Transportation institutions and partners.
• Contribute to thought leadership in Transportation by providing insights into legacy technologies, modernization trends, and legislative impacts.
