Sr. Director, Site Reliability Engineering - Decision Intelligence

Position Overview

We seek an experienced leader to establish and lead our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practice within the DI business unit. This leader will recruit, build, and own a mature on-premises product suite while guiding our transition to AWS. Collaboration with the centralized SRE guild and other business units' SRE leaders will be essential.

Preference given to candidates in Scottsdale; other locations include San Francisco or Seattle.

Overall Purpose

Build and lead the company's SRE organization, ensuring system reliability and excellent customer experience. The role requires a deep focus on uptime, issue resolution, and accountability across teams.

Essential Functions

  1. Develop external customer relationships and industry presence.
  2. Establish QoS metrics for all production assets.
  3. Lead and develop high-performance, engaged teams.
  4. Regularly report on system availability.
  5. Review tooling, monitoring, and alerting against best practices.
  6. Participate in RCA meetings, raising standards.
  7. Ensure teams meet QoS metrics and investigate anomalies.
  8. Set objectives, provide coaching, and develop talent within the organization.
  9. Maintain documentation and knowledge management for applications.
  10. Foster skill development and leadership within the team.
  11. Support risk management and data security initiatives.
  12. Promote a proactive risk culture with testing and issue identification.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, or related field.
  • 15+ years in technology roles with at least 10 years in leadership.
  • Proven experience leading high-performing SRE teams in mission-critical environments.
  • Experience in developing and retaining engaged teams and managing 24/7 on-call operations.
  • Familiarity with industry tools like Splunk, Zabbix, Grafana, PagerDuty, AppDynamics.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and executive presence skills.
  • Leadership in change management and innovation.
  • Ability to influence across organizational levels.
  • Strategic thinking with business plan translation skills.
  • Financial acumen including P&L and budget management.
  • Background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vendor management expertise.
  • Experience leading organizational change initiatives.

Compensation

In Phoenix, AZ: $190,000 - $220,000/year.

In San Francisco, CA: $220,000 - $240,000/year.

Compensation is subject to change and depends on various factors including experience, location, and internal equity. Candidates are also eligible for bonuses and benefits.
