Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Building Services and/or Director of Maintenance, this role involves installing, maintaining, painting, and repairing machinery, equipment, physical structures, and systems within the facilities.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• Provide quality customer service to residents, families, co-workers, and vendors to ensure satisfaction.
• Possess competence in skills such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, metal fabrication, welding, boiler systems, hydraulic systems, or HVAC.
• Repair and install plumbing, water heaters, gas furnaces, and other equipment.
• Dismantle defective machinery and install repaired or new parts.
• Clean and lubricate machinery components.
• Maintain physical structures of the establishment.
• Operate machine tools like lathes, grinders, drills, and milling machines for repairs or fabrication.
• Perform repairs and refurbishments for resident accommodations and other structures.
• Inspect machinery and equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and complete work orders.
• Follow safety standards, wear PPE, and report hazards or accidents.

Competencies and Skills:

• Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.
• Problem-solving skills involving standard situations.

Education and Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or equivalent.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Requires frequent walking, handling objects, talking, hearing, and tasting or smelling. Occasionally standing, reaching, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 65 pounds with assistance. Visual abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception. The work involves outdoor weather conditions, mechanical hazards, chemicals, and noise, with reasonable accommodations available for disabilities.
