The Role

As a Maintenance Technician at AvalonBay, you will be responsible for diagnosing problems and making repairs to maintain the physical condition of the community, ensuring timely completion of service requests. Your duties include:

• Diagnosing and repairing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware, masonry, painting, water features, and waste management systems.
• Completing service requests efficiently and maintaining safety standards.
• Ensuring vacant apartments are rent-ready promptly and performing turnkey work as needed.
• Conducting preventative maintenance and assisting with painting tasks.
• Following safety policies and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Performing hot works such as brazing, soldering, and welding according to standards.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of maintenance experience, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.
• A valid driver's license.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and understand policies, safety data sheets, and chemical applications.
• Knowledge of PPE, emergency systems, and paint types.
