About The Role

We, the data science team, are growing and work closely with executives to support business strategy. As a Senior/Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you will utilize rigorous AI/ML methods to deliver value and enable data-driven product development. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual capable of working autonomously and driving technical efforts to build robust AI/ML solutions, especially with large interconnected datasets that have immediate business impact.

What You Will Do

• Define and implement AI/ML priorities for the Cisco Network Platform data science team, collaborating with product managers, AI architects, designers, user researchers, and engineering partners.
• Design and implement sophisticated models and architectures.
• Understand data schemas to recommend data models, evaluation, and governance processes.
• Establish approaches for model integration and deployment using CI/CD principles.
• Evaluate AI model performance through rigorous testing, experimentation, and benchmarking.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges with ingenuity and creativity.
• Influence architectural decisions focusing on security, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate across teams to develop features within the product portfolio.
• Work with managers to set team objectives and key results.
• Supervise technical designs and set standards for modeling and coding quality.
• Mentor team members with technical guidance.

What Skills You Possess

• 8+ years of industry experience or relevant academic experience (Masters or PhD).
• Proficiency in Python or Scala and SQL.
• Experience designing large-scale machine learning frameworks and models.
• Knowledge of data processing and ML libraries like Pandas, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras.
• Experience deploying scalable data and ML pipelines.
• Familiarity with distributed computing engines like Apache Spark and real-time streaming services like Kafka or Kinesis.
• Experience with cloud-based AI/ML infrastructure, preferably AWS.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker), orchestration (K8s), and CI/CD frameworks (GitLab).
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

Bonus Points For

• Experience with GenAI frameworks like LangChain, Jarvis, Amazon Bedrock.
• Experience maintaining scalable MLOps platforms and supporting production systems.
• Experience in networking domain AI/ML applications.
