Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Associate partners with Asset Managers to manage and oversee commercial and multifamily real estate investments, aiming to optimize asset performance and value. Responsibilities include developing property-specific strategies, analyzing leasing decisions, feasibility studies, and evaluating property performance against industry benchmarks. The role also supports the preparation of quarterly and annual property reports and budgets for a portfolio of assets.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Asset Managers to develop operational strategies and analyze leasing, capital projects, or other factors affecting asset value.
  • Assist in reviewing valuation models (Argus and Excel) and participate in acquisition and disposition processes, overseeing due diligence information flow.
  • Prepare financial analyses comparing portfolio and property results to industry benchmarks.
  • Coordinate development of Annual Business Plans and Quarterly reports, including property operating and capital budgets, and review financial variances.
  • Communicate with third-party property management, leasing personnel, and other consultants as needed.
  • Review lease packages, evaluate prospective tenants, and perform related financial analyses.
  • Analyze market reports and lease or transaction data.
  • Facilitate lender compliance with asset-specific requirements, including lease approvals and capital expenditure coordination.
  • Support internal audits and ensure third-party compliance with property management agreements.

Position Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field; postgraduate education is a plus. Continued education in real estate encouraged.
Work Experience:
  • 2–5 years in commercial/multifamily real estate or related activities; property-level experience is a plus.
Skills:
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Argus, VTS, RealPage, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of lease agreements, present value, and financial terminology.
  • Analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective prioritization, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to multi-task and collaborate across management levels.

Travel

Some travel required for property visits and due diligence.

Compensation and Benefits

In California, salary range is $105,000–$115,000 annually, plus incentives, based on skills and experience. Benefits include flexible PTO, hybrid work, 401(k) matching, health benefits, parental leave, and stock purchase plan.
