Position Summary

The Bayview YMCA is an anchor service provider of housing stability and resident support in San Francisco. Our mission is to provide holistic and comprehensive programs that support health, wellness and self-efficacy in youth, families, and communities.

The Services Coordinator plays a key role in connecting families to essential resources and services that enhance family stability, self-sufficiency, and long-term housing security. Based off-site at Armstrong Place, this position requires proactive engagement to build relationships with residents and link them to community resources that support their well-being. The ideal candidate is adaptable, resourceful, and committed to fostering a thriving community. This role requires flexibility, strong interpersonal skills, and reliable transportation for attending meetings and trainings.

Job Responsibilities

Resident Support & Case Coordination

• Provide one-on-one support to residents, assisting them in developing plans to overcome barriers to personal success, including goal setting, planning, and referrals to internal and external resources.

• Conduct extensive outreach to residents to ensure engagement with available services.

• Collaborate with branch staff and community partners to troubleshoot resident issues and develop strategies for success.

• Facilitate groups, workshops, and events as needed to support residents.

Crisis Management & Conflict Resolution

• Demonstrate strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills to handle volatile situations while ensuring personal safety.

Program Administration & Reporting

• Collect and maintain accurate data related to case coordination and reporting.

• Follow reporting procedures and ensure compliance with data collection platforms.

• Maintain confidentiality of client data and adhere to all policies and procedures.

Communication & Collaboration

• Communicate regularly with the FSS Senior Director regarding programming updates and partnership meetings.

Community Support Initiatives

• Support efforts to mitigate food insecurity for residents by connecting them with resources and assistance programs.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

This position is based off-site at Armstrong Place and involves a mix of office tasks, community engagement, and outreach. It requires sitting, standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds. Reliable transportation is needed for meetings and trainings, with some evening and weekend hours as required.

Salary Description

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $25 to $30, based on experience, qualifications, and industry benchmarks. Compensation is aligned with grant funding approvals.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Must be available Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5 PM, with occasional evening and weekend hours.
• Experience working with underserved, high-risk, and isolated populations.
• Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate in English.
• Strong data management skills, including the ability to collect, manage, and compile data for reporting purposes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and data entry.

Preferred Qualifications

• AA degree in Social Work, Public Policy, Psychology, Public Health, Health Education, or a related field.
• Experience with housing stabilization, case management, and program reporting.
• Bilingual skills in Cantonese or Mandarin strongly preferred.
