Director of Cyber Security

Description:

LHH Technology is looking for an experienced and dynamic Director of Cybersecurity Incident Response team. In this role, you will oversee efforts to detect, investigate, and respond to security threats and incidents. You will be responsible for driving proactive threat hunting initiatives, optimizing incident response processes, and enhancing our security posture. This leadership position demands a combination of deep technical expertise in cybersecurity operations and a strategic approach to building resilient security programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts in detecting, investigating, and responding to cybersecurity threats and incidents.
  • Manage and optimize incident response processes to minimize false positives and enhance detection capabilities.
  • Develop and execute proactive threat hunting programs to identify and mitigate external and internal threats.
  • Collaborate with product teams, IT leadership, and vendors to improve overall cybersecurity defenses.
  • Develop and improve playbooks and runbooks for efficient threat response.
  • Oversee the use of security tools such as SIEM, XDR, SOAR, and case management platforms.
  • Drive the development of a strong cybersecurity culture across the organization, ensuring adherence to security policies.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering continuous professional development.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest threat landscape and cybersecurity trends to anticipate and mitigate risks.
  • Recruit, mentor, and guide security professionals to build a strong, agile team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Master's or PhD preferred) and at least 9–11 years of experience in cybersecurity.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CSSP, or similar are required.
  • Proven experience in incident response, threat hunting, and security operations.
  • Experience with SIEM, XDR, SOAR, and case management platforms.
  • Strong leadership experience, including managing teams, third-party vendors, and consultants.
  • Experience in designing and executing phishing simulations, and improving the organization's defenses.
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud security, IAM, DLP, data protection strategies, and network security protocols.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks like NIST, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, and others.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks.

Salary Range & Work Modality:

  • Salary Range: $200,000 – $270,000 annually, based on geographic location and experience.
  • Work Modality: Hybrid, with flexibility for remote work. Some onsite presence may be required.
