Job Description

Turner & Townsend are looking for a Cost Estimator to join our team and support an office space construction portfolio including remodels and fit-outs for both new and existing spaces.

This role is client-facing and requires a professional with a strong estimating background, particularly in office spaces. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, and be driven and promote our Turner & Townsend purpose and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed conceptual, schematic, and design development (DD) estimates for office space remodels and fit-outs.
  • Oversee and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing any concerns or queries.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure alignment on project scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Generate detailed cost reports and forecasts, presenting findings to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on market trends and pricing to provide accurate cost estimates and advice.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.

Project/Program specifications:

  • Strong proficiency in conceptual, schematic, and DD estimating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the commercial sector, including tenant improvements (TI) and fit-out office spaces.
  • Proficiency using industry standard cost estimating software and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction cost management and/or estimating experience, with a focus on office spaces.
  • Program level cost management and construction consultancy experience is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering.

Additional Information:

The salary range for this full-time role is $130K-$140K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate's experience and qualifications.
