Bitewell is seeking a scrappy, execution-oriented Head of Marketing to lead our mission of revolutionizing how consumers think about food health. We're looking for a marketing leader who can craft compelling narratives around our FoodHealth Score, drive consumer demand, and create a movement with modest resources but unlimited ambition. About Bitewell
Our vision is to create a world without diet-related disease. We're making this happen through our core product: The FoodHealth Score. The score is our proprietary, first-of-its-kind nutrition scoring system that combines cutting-edge science with innovative technology to give consumers insight and transparency into the healthfulness of food. We bring this to market with our partners in food retail, manufacturing, and data, which empowers customers to make healthier choices, merchandisers to stock healthier shelves and brands to make healthier products.
What You'll Do
Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a marketing strategy that drives consumer awareness and adoption of the FoodHealth Score
- Build a marketing function that operates across all pillars: brand, content, digital, social, PR, and partnerships
- Manage an annual budget creatively to achieve outsized results
- Lead, mentor, and grow the marketing team
Brand Building & Storytelling
- Craft a rebellious, mission-driven brand voice that challenges the status quo in food and nutrition
- Create a compelling narrative around the FoodHealth Score that simplifies complex nutrition science for everyday consumers
- Position the FoodHealth Score as the new standard in food health evaluation, moving beyond calories and traditional metrics
- Develop a distinctive and consistent brand identity across all touchpoints
Consumer Growth & Engagement
- Drive B2B2C strategy by creating strong consumer pull that incentivizes retailers and brands to adopt our technology
- Design and implement creative campaigns that build massive engagement with our brand and mission
- Execute rapid test-and-learn experiments to optimize marketing effectiveness and ROI
- Translate consumer insights into actionable marketing initiatives that drive growth
Partner Management
- Develop collaborative partnerships with aligned food and wellness brands to expand reach
- Work cross-functionally with sales to provide compelling marketing materials that support retail partnerships
Analytics & Performance Marketing
- Build data-driven marketing systems that measure impact and ROI across channels
- Implement attribution models to understand the consumer journey and optimize accordingly
- Balance creative intuition with analytical rigor to make smart marketing investments
- Report on key marketing metrics to leadership and tie marketing activities to business outcomes

- Growth Strategist: You've successfully driven consumer adoption and engagement, ideally for innovative products in crowded markets
- Budget Maximizer: You know how to achieve remarkable results without massive budgets, finding creative ways to stretch marketing dollars
- B2B2C Expert: You understand how to create consumer demand that pulls products through retail channels
- Brand Builder: You've helped build distinctive, memorable brands that stand out from competitors
- Strong Voice: You can confidently present and defend marketing strategies to leadership while remaining collaborative
- Team Leader: You've managed marketing teams of 5-10 people and know how to hire, develop and inspire top talent
- Mission-Aligned: You're passionate about nutrition, health, and the transformative power of better food choices
Experience We're Looking For
- Proven track record building consumer brands, ideally in food, health, or wellness sectors
- Experience with B2B2C business models where consumer demand drives business adoption
- Background in companies that have successfully taken niche movements mainstream
- History of achieving significant marketing results with limited resources
- Understanding of both brand and performance marketing, with the ability to balance both
