Director of Communications

Description:

This is a senior-level role responsible for leading both internal and external communications across the brand.

Partner closely with leadership across our brands and corporate functions to develop a comprehensive narrative that effectively communicates business objectives, company culture, and core values to all key audiences.

Design, edit, and oversee the creation and distribution of a wide range of internal and external communication materials relevant to the retail and fashion industry, including brand program updates, corporate presentations, FAQs, fact sheets on sustainability initiatives, press releases for new collections or partnerships, executive speeches, engaging articles for internal platforms and industry publications, and dynamic social media content.

Provide strategic guidance and support to executive management in preparation for internal town halls, investor calls, and external industry events.

Evaluate the effectiveness of communication plans by analyzing audience engagement, tracking media coverage, and implementing relevant metrics to measure impact and identify areas for improvement within the retail landscape.

Develop and maintain clear standards and guidelines for communication style, tone, and content that align with each of our brands and the overall client identity.

Collaborate effectively with internal teams (Marketing, PR, HR, Investor Relations) and external agencies, leading key communication initiatives and driving their successful implementation within the fast-paced retail environment.

Take ownership of communication planning, budget management, and achieving desired outcomes, while also setting policies and strategic direction for your area of responsibility within company communication function.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.

5+ years of progressive experience in strategic communications, content strategy, or brand communications, preferably within the retail, apparel, or fashion industry.

Proven ability to develop and implement successful internal and external communication strategies that resonate with diverse audiences, including consumers and industry stakeholders.

Exceptional writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills with a strong understanding of brand voice and tone within the fashion context.

Strong understanding of various communication channels, including digital platforms, social media trends, and public relations within the retail landscape.

Experience working with executive-level stakeholders and providing strategic counsel.

Demonstrated ability to analyze data and measure the effectiveness of communication efforts in driving brand engagement and achieving business goals.

Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced retail environment.

Ability to work collaboratively and lead cross-functional teams.
