Job Summary & Responsibilities

This position plays a key role in the development of Class III implantable Neuromodulation systems. This is a technical management position that reports to the Senior Director of Product Development.

  • Manage teams including but not limited to managers, engineers (hardware/software) and technicians.
  • Drive accountability, consistency, quality, standardization and discipline across the electrical engineering function.
  • Manage complex medical device development programs from concept through design, validation, clinical trial, product release, as well as sustaining engineering regarding post launch product management.
  • Interface with Marketing, Quality, Engineering, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Clinical, outside vendors, partners and physicians to develop next generation products.
  • Take a leadership position in development processes, efficient use of prototyping resources, standards and methodologies, and prioritization of business objectives.
  • Build functional bench strength – includes staffing, training, completing performance evaluations and actively supporting career development for future department and business leaders.
  • Maintain customer focus; understand the needs of our customers, including patients, physicians, and regulators and reimbursement; engage in regular contact with customers.

Role Requirements

  • A minimum of a BS Electrical Engineering degree and 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communications skills. Clear project and product performance and reporting.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience applying project management tools to define project objectives, scope and process. Able to drive cross-functional interactions and effectively manage internal and external resources.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Self-starting, self-motivated, self-directed, and self-sufficient. Naturally accountable and responsible.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) to all levels of an organization.
  • Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings).
  • Must possess a professional demeanor and demonstrated effectiveness working with others in a cross-functional team environment. Remains flexible and calm in the face of ambiguity.
  • Experience driving for fast product development, concurrent engineering, and completion of complex projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Experience identifying and assigning resources toward specific product initiatives.
  • Experience managing internal and external “vendor” relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication along with good presentation and technical writing skills.

Target Pay Range

$196,647 to $270,390 - the final starting pay rate offer to the successful candidate will be determined by evaluating several factors, such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, alignment with market data, and geography. *Nevro is a multi-state employer, so the target pay range may increase or decrease depending on the city/state.
