Join BKF Engineers as a Land Survey Project Manager and lead the way in innovative surveying projects!

The Land Survey Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the surveying team and managing a variety of high-profile projects across California. You will ensure that all surveying activities are executed efficiently and meet the highest standards of accuracy and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and coordinate surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring goals are met on time and within budget.
2. Prepare and review surveying plans, including boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys.
3. Oversee field operations, including construction staking and data collection using advanced technologies.
4. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to integrate survey data into project workflows.
5. Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior surveying staff.
6. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and codes.
7. Build and maintain client relationships, providing exceptional service and support.
8. Prepare project proposals and participate in interview presentations.
9. Lead project team activities, including but not limited to reviewing and supervising technical aspects of work as well as defining project scope, budget, and schedule.
10. Primary client contact.
11. Mentoring and developing staff of engineers and evaluating performance.
12. Coordinate staff resources with other teams.
13. Contract negotiations, approve client billing, and secure contract amendments for changes to scope and fees.
14. Meet or exceed group and individual performance goals.
15. Assist in hiring and staffing process with group leadership.
16. Travel to various job sites and offices may be required.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of surveying experience, with at least 2 years in a project management role.
3. Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is required.
4. Strong knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.
5. Proficient in CAD software, especially Autodesk Civil 3D.
6. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively.
7. Experience in managing budgets and schedules to meet project requirements.
8. May require flexible hours.
9. Travel between BKF offices and other off-site locations may be required.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions:

Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.

Compensation and Benefits:

1. The typical base salary range for this position is $115,000 - $168,000 annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is a salary position paid biweekly.
