Under general direction, the 6130 Safety Analyst plans and conducts worksite hazard analysis to identify occupational safety hazards and establishes comprehensive occupational safety programs to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform incident investigations and produce reports identifying causes and causal factors and prevention. Provide technical safety assistance and support for incident investigations.
  • Perform trend analyses on incidents as assigned.
  • Develop corrective action plan for identified incident trends.
  • Determine leading safety and health indicators and reports annually.
  • Develop, conduct, and/or coordinate occupational safety and health training for employees, supervisors, and management.
  • Evaluate safety and health training provided by consultants and as necessary, make recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct safety and health inspections and hazard assessment surveys and generate reports which identify physical, biological, and chemical hazards.
  • Review and comment on contract site safety plans and make recommendations to ensure compliance.
  • Create or revise SFIA Safety and Health Policies and Procedures.
  • Attend Airport Safety Committee and other meetings as requested.

How to qualify

Education:
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university AND

Experience:
Four (4) years of professional occupational safety experience.

License and Certification:
Possession of a valid California Driver's License.

Desirable Qualifications:
• Has diverse field experience in construction or transportation industries or government public sectors.
