Studio QA Engineer

Description:

Supernatural Studio is seeking a QA Engineer to join their QA Team. As a QA Engineer, you'll report to the Head of QA & Release Management and will split your time between utilizing your proven experience in problem-solving skills to find, report and resolve various defects across a wide range of platforms, including Oculus Quest, iOS, Android, Unity, Web, Backend services and Analytics. You will partner with your QA counterparts, members from Product, Design and a diverse group of developers from many disciplines to help test experiences that delight and inspire athletes. What sets the QA Engineer apart is a specialization in testing and data, a focus on larger scope strategy, independence, confidence coordinating between disciplines and interest in creating new and exciting products.

Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team, Program, Product, Release Managers and other developers to define acceptance criteria, plan test coverage, assist in executing day to day testing of pre-released software, identifying risks, and build tooling and automation to improve efficiency across the team.
  2. Perform smoke testing and regression testing to verify bug fixes as needed for additional support.
  3. Perform testing from scripted test cases as needed for additional support.
  4. Work closely with onsite and offsite resources to coordinate and execute day to day testing requirements for the product organization.
  5. Develop a thorough understanding of the product from both technical and player perspective and help identify quality improvements for gameplay moments.
  6. Report and track data quality and utilize monitoring tools to drive conversations around risks, product quality and development health, and identify root cause.
  7. Perform testing requiring base code or internal tools such as Perforce, Visual Studio Code Debugger, and Unreal Editor.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. 2+ years of professional QA experience in a game testing environment.
  2. Experience with Testing Software such as TestRail.
  3. Experience with developing test plans and test cases.
  4. Basic data literacy as demonstrated by experience with Key Performance Indicators, data analytics or statistics.
  5. Understanding of the software test cycle process.
  6. Familiarity with testing in an Agile Development environment.
  7. Competency in JIRA, Confluence, Google apps.
  8. Proven problem-solving skills and approach.
  9. 1+ years of developing Unit Test and Integration Test Plans with a thorough understanding of at least one test framework.
  10. Proven communication skills.
  11. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Experience working in a QA or Dev role on a VR title.
  2. Involvement with a shipped game or app on console/PC/mobile.
  3. Demonstrated data literacy as demonstrated by experience with Key Performance Indicators, data analytics, or statistics.
  4. Experience in VR, game or mobile applications.

US$106,000/year to US$125,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
