Summary/Objective

The Technical Sales Representative draws on practical knowledge of steam and hot water utilities to provide customers with the best solution available for the application. Maintain a customer base of key accounts that generate recurring sales to achieve the annual sales plan for the territory.

Essential Functions

• Build relationships with design engineers, mechanical contractors and end users.
• Majority of time meeting directly on-site with customers.
• Developing opportunities by identifying solutions to solve customer needs.
• Promoting solutions of key manufacturers that we represent.
• Maintaining customer relationship management (CRM) data including daily activities.

Ideal Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and/or three years of sales experience in mechanical field.
• Experience with steam and hot water systems.
• Ambitious ‘hunter' sales personality.
• Mechanical aptitude and/or practical knowledge of pipe, valves and fittings.
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Able to work both independently and in a team environment.

Other Important Information

• Technical training provided by company during work hours.
• This position is home-based, must live within sales territory.
