Senior Software Engineer - Event Insights at Eventbrite

We are looking for a talented backend engineer to join our Event Insights development team. We build the dashboards, APIs, and tools that event organizers use to reach more people and see opportunities for organizing even better live experiences. You will help us scale our application and data infrastructure to provide deep, real-time analytics and support interactive data visualization and notification systems.

Want to help build our scalable, high-volume, always-on service? Our primary stack is Python and Django, all running on AWS with a MySQL backend. Some of the other tools that we use are Redis, Hive, Impala, Cassandra, Slack, Github, Docker, and an industrial grade espresso machine.

You Bring:

1. An advanced degree in Computer Science or equivalent plus 3+ years of working experience in rapid product development.
2. Significant experience with relational databases hosting very large datasets.
3. Understanding of shipping advanced web applications in frameworks like Django or Ruby on Rails.
4. You want to work on a product that everybody uses.

You Will:

1. Create new product dashboards and analytics tools that are at the core of the event organizer experience of Eventbrite.
2. Scale critical services with technologies like Kafka and ElasticSearch.
3. Work closely with our architecture and data warehouse teams, contributing to site architectural improvements and creating shared components that span our service.
4. Work in an environment where we move quickly, are always learning and enjoy a challenge.
