The role is accountable for site operations facility with 250-500+ union employees who refine, package and distribute a high quality food product. Reporting to the site VP/GM role, this person must ensure operations meet safety, food safety, quality, cost, volume and service criteria. Executes strategy to achieve short and long-term operating and profit goals. Directs administration of policies for site within context of companywide policies. Implements and drives execution of continuous improvement principles. Helps to formulate short and long-term operating procedures in areas such as quality improvement, cost reduction and manufacturing/processing efficiency. Develops and implements plans to achieve appropriate production volumes and profit projections. Ensures that product quality and safety standards are met within budgetary limits. Develops future talent and leadership. Provides reports to VP/GM to review progress against goals.
