Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Community Relations Manager to serve as the main liaison between our company and the local neighborhoods. This role involves attending neighborhood meetings, building relationships with community leaders and residents, addressing concerns, and ensuring our company's involvement aligns with the needs of the communities we serve. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, a strong advocate for community engagement, and a passionate problem-solver.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Represent the company at local neighborhood meetings, town halls, and community forums to ensure open communication and understanding of local needs and concerns.
2. Build and nurture relationships with community leaders, residents, and local organizations to create a positive rapport and enhance the company's presence in the community.
3. Actively listen to community concerns and provide feedback to ensure the company is responsive and addresses neighborhood issues effectively.
4. Identify opportunities to engage in community-driven initiatives, events, and partnerships that align with the company's values, mission, and long-term objectives.
5. Work closely with internal teams to develop and execute community engagement strategies that support the company's overall goals.
6. Serve as the primary point of contact for neighborhood-related inquiries and concerns, ensuring timely, respectful resolution of issues.
7. Coordinate and participate in community outreach programs, volunteer opportunities, and other company-sponsored events to strengthen our company's relationship with the local community.
8. Track and report on neighborhood concerns, community engagement activities, and the effectiveness of our outreach efforts to ensure alignment with company objectives.
9. Develop and distribute communication materials, such as newsletters, social media posts, and flyers, to keep the community informed about the company's initiatives, updates, and opportunities for involvement.
10. Monitor local issues, trends, and public sentiment to provide valuable insights to senior leadership on how the company can better serve the community and enhance its impact.
11. Collaborate closely with government affairs partners to ensure community relations efforts are aligned with policy and regulatory considerations.

Job Description:

The candidate selected for this role will live in and support the San Francisco, Marin and Sonoma County communities.

EDUCATION:

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's: Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Public Policy, or related field

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

8 years recent relevant experience

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

1. Working knowledge of the strategic planning process.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of working with volunteer community groups.
3. Significant understanding of community-based organizations, local and statewide foundations, and government agencies.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
5. Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.
6. Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
7. Make presentations to persuade others to accept a specific opinion or action, or to provide information and instruction.
8. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with audiences across all areas and levels within Sutter Health as well as external organizations.
9. Negotiate or exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate policies and programs and/or to arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions.

Pay Range is $60.90 to $91.35 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
