Senior Cheminformatics Scientist (Client Facing)

We're excited to collaborate with a San Fran based stealth mode start up dedicated to revolutionising toxicology assessments. They are working towards shifting traditional lab experiments to in silico, achieving faster, more accurate results at a fraction of the cost. Founded in 2023, the company is already collaborating with leading pharmaceutical companies and has ambitious growth plans for 2025 and beyond.


Your Role

In this dual role position, you will:


Cheminformatics

  • Leverage your chemistry expertise to guide drug development decisions while advancing AI capabilities.
  • Create new methods to interpret AI model predictions and generate novel chemistry to meet customer needs.
  • Improve the company's foundational molecular data processing.
  • Develop cutting edge evaluations of model utility.


Client-Facing

  • Drive customer drug programs forward using the company's AI tools.
  • Analyse and communicate complex ML predictions to scientific teams.
  • Build long lasting partnerships with biotech and pharma teams.
  • Shape product development based on customer feedback.


What We're Looking For

  • Deep chemistry knowledge (from academia or industry).
  • Passion for both technical work and explaining complex concepts to others.
  • Proficiency in Python and cheminformatics tools (RDKit, datamol).
  • Strong interest or experience in machine learning.
  • Enjoyment in building relationships with scientific customers.
  • A desire to revolutionise drug discovery.


Your Toolkit

You'll be working with:

  • Python ecosystem (numpy, pandas).
  • Cheminformatics libraries (RDKit, datamol).
  • Data processing tools (SQL, cloud computing).
  • Scientific computing and visualisation tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
