For over 25 years, the Society has been continuously accredited by the AZA.Upholds the Society's mission, core values, and other policies/procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook and elsewhere.This position may be required to work weekends and holidays, subject to operational needs.SUMMARYDirects and coordinates the activities of the Custodial and Truck departments by performing the following duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in Managing EVS and Forklift One's Duties & Performance, including Schedules, Time Sheets, Bathrooms, Path Cleaning, Sign Cleaning, Exterior Exhibit Windows Cleaning, Barricades, Events, Office Moves, and Emergency Assistance.
  • Assist in Managing Schedules, days off, and Vacations to ensure adequate service plans, and oversee workloads assigned to individuals.
  • Assist with Managing the Work Orders system and distributing work orders in a timely manner.
  • Assist with Payroll.
  • Assist with Inventory & Purchasing of EVS goods.
  • Manage EVS Budget.
  • Manage Shipping, Receiving, and distribution of mail.
  • Manage the Warehouse Organization, storage, and cleanliness of space inside and out.
  • Manage animal waste removal, forklift Maintenance, and bin replacement including special pickups.
  • Manage annual Fire Extinguisher recharge, Inventory, and Training.
  • Assist with Hazardous Waste storage, pickups, and drop-offs while following all City and State Laws.
  • Manage and secure alcohol storage for DEVO Events.
  • Manage first Aid supplies and inventory Zoo wide.
  • Manage staff drinking water, inventory, and dispensers.
  • Manage Pest control Zoo Wide.
  • Perform other supervisory duties as requested or needed.
  • Interact with Zoo visitors courteously and offer proper attention at times.
  • When needed, assume the role of Manager on Duty and Incident Command.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
