San Francisco CASA is seeking Members for our Board of Directors
An optimal candidate for the board is:
We seek board candidates who are passionate about our mission. We are open to candidates with a wide range of professional expertise including those with backgrounds in HR, DEIBJ, education, healthcare, social services, finance, media, marketing/communications, law, and/or juvenile justice. We are committed to board diversification across race and ethnicity, gender, age, socio-economic status, and lived experience. An optimal candidate brings alignment with and curiosity for our organizational values which include commitment, cultural humility, strength-based services, community and lifting the voice of those we exist to support.
Why you should consider joining this board:
We completed an ambitious strategic plan in early 2022 and we are seeking board members who can help us realize our vision that every child and youth has a safe and loving home, and equitable access to the resources and community support needed to thrive. Prospective board members have the opportunity to join a team of committed, skilled and dynamic professionals who engage in collaborative leadership, deepening their own skills and connections while meaningfully contributing to an organization that has a proven and transformative impact on the lives of San Francisco's most vulnerable children and youth.
Board Members Commitment:
There are numerous ways that board members can contribute to SFCASA and we aim to achieve a healthy and inclusive mix of contributions across time, expertise, financial contribution and network/community connections. We welcome a mix of contributions that are relevant, timely and add value to our mission impact. For example, some board members commit to a $10K "give or get" financial contribution to SFCASA, while others commit to actively recruiting CASA volunteers and/or connecting SFCASA with a pro bono service provider such as a PR specialist, lobbyist or trainer while making a smaller financial contribution. Board members are encouraged to think broadly about how they can best contribute to SFCASA's mission.
