Examples of Duties

This rewarding role is dedicated to the care and well-being of Shelter animals! This position involves providing food, water, and comfort to animals in a safe and clean environment. You'll have hands-on responsibilities like monitoring animals' health, isolating and caring for sick or injured animals, and maintaining accurate logs of all activities and medical care. Compassionate animal handling, adherence to local and federal animal care standards, and excellent customer service are key. Additionally, you'll support emergency responses, assist the public with animal adoptions, and work collaboratively with the team.

Typical Qualifications

Ideal candidates for the Part-Time Animal Care Technician role will have a combination of education and experience related to animal care, typically with six months of experience handling and caring for animals in a shelter or similar environment. Candidates should possess, or be able to obtain a Euthanasia certification within the first year of employment.

Additional Requirements:
Flexibility to participate in an adjusted schedule, which may include holidays, weekends, and evenings.
