Purchasing/Inventory Associate
Program: Finance
Reports to: Director of Finance
Compensation: $25 per hour. Non-exempt Full-time position. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending account, commuter benefits, paid holiday, paid sick leave, generous vacation with Summer Recess and Winter Recess, and 401(K) with employer matching.

Position Summary:
The Purchasing/inventory associate staff member is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing products essential to our operations, maintaining accurate inventory records, managing stock levels, and ensuring efficiency for office and all programs' operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sourcing, negotiating and purchasing products essential to our operations.
- This role involves ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement while maintaining high-quality standards
- This is an in office full time position
- Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions with suppliers to ensure the best possible deals.
- Issue purchase orders and ensure accurate and timely delivery of materials.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery or pricing.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies to achieve cost savings and optimize procurement expenses.
- Analyze supplier pricing proposals and assess cost structures to ensure competitive pricing
- Inventory management
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems to track products
- Monitor and report discrepancies between physical counts and inventory records.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions.
- Generate reports on inventory status, discrepancies, and metrics as required.
- Assist in developing and implementing inventory control policies and procedures.
- Assist program staff and manager with inventory-related inquiries.
- Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing issues and concerns.
- Conduct business in accordance with the Mission Action Employee Handbook, exercising sound judgment and serving the best interests of the agency and the community

Qualifications and Experience Desired
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
- Detail Oriented: Pays attention to details and ensures accuracy in procurement activities.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in inventory management is a plus.
- Previous experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a related field.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and tools.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual in spoken and written Spanish, preferred.
