The Intake Specialist will navigate the intake process and connect the participant to the required services. This position will also ensure all intakes are entered into databases, have a compassionate approach to working with children and families, and effectively interact with families of diverse economic, social, ethnic, and linguistic backgrounds.Essential Responsibilities: Provide high-level customer service and hospitality to FCC participants and visitorsAnswer and direct agency incoming phone calls and visitorsProvide participants with handouts, forms, and program informationConduct inventory and organization of office materials and suppliesFacilitate and enter data, reminder calls, and texts to participantsSupport with setup and cleanup of workshops and activities, confirm details with presenters/attendeesAssist with event planning and implementation of community and family eventsPlan and facilitate family support programs in accordance with the work plan and goals, including parent/caregiver support groups, community/family events, and food and diaper distribution programsProvide and facilitate Family Advocacy and Information & ReferralsProvide translation of intake forms, announcements, and communication between families and staffEstablish and maintain strong partnerships with community partners including participating in outreach eventsPerform other duties as needed or requested by the supervisorQualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Family Services, Early Childhood Education, Counseling, or related field; degree can be substituted with additional years of relevant professional experienceBilingual in Cantonese/EnglishMinimum two years of administrative office experienceExperience working with diverse communities, including low-income families and around childrenAbility to operate general office equipmentExcellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to type 50 words a minuteStrong computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, or similar softwareSkills / Knowledge: Professional ethics of confidentiality, discretion, and good judgmentStrong critical thinking, flexibility, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and decision-makingAbility to speak in group/public settings, provide feedback, and share ideasDemonstrated cultural sensitivity, experience working effectively in diverse communities of staff and participants, and knowledge of San Francisco's diverse community and learning stylesAble to handle multiple tasks and great problem-solving and mediation skillsStrong administrative, organizational, and customer service skillsCollaborative, flexible, and self-directed, with the ability to work well in teams and independentlyKeen sense of safety, security, and ergonomicsStay updated on CPR/First Aid, Mandated Reporter, Pesticide training, Workplace Harassment, Workplace Violence, and required vaccinationsLives Scan Clearance and physical health/TB clearance are required to be maintained throughout employmentWork Environment:This position will be based out of our Portola, Excelsior, and Visitacion Valley centers. This job operates in a professional office environment with Pre-K and Afterschool Programs on site. Work scheduled weekdays, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening/weekend work to support community events.
