Contra Costa Regional Medical Center, located in Martinez, CA, is a county hospital serving a diverse population of patients and providing equitable and quality health care to all members of our Contra Costa community. We are currently seeking 1-2 Hospitalists who care about underserved populations and are interested in resident teaching.
Our hospitalist department is comprised of family medicine and internal medicine trained physicians. Our Hospitalists are responsible for caring for hospitalized adults and adolescents (over 14) for various medical reasons; managing the medical care of our psychiatric unit; providing care in our ICU; and providing perioperative care. We work closely with the Contra Costa Family Medicine Residency training residents on their inpatient rotations. We provide 24/7 care, so our providers are expected to work 3 nights per month and to start 2-3 weekend shifts. We work about 16 shifts per month with flexibility in which days those are.
Contra Costa Regional Medical Center has a collegial relationship with all of our consultants.
We do not require hospitalist fellowships and accept graduates directly after residency, offering robust mentorship to new hires. We are not a trauma center, and we do not perform dialysis or cardiac catheterizations.

Starting salary is roughly $238,000 the first year and increases to $271,000 the second year with opportunity for more.
