Position Summary

FACES for the Future Coalition is a health career pathway program designed to work with underserved high school students interested in careers in health, public health, mental and behavioral health, and global health. Originally founded in 2000 at Children's Hospital and Research Center Oakland, the program has been replicated throughout California and has begun national expansion.

The FACES for the Future Coalition has developed two academic year programs in San Francisco, in partnership with local high schools and health organizations. Summer program planning is underway in SF.

The FACES for the Future Coalition is looking for a Program Coordinator for the FACES program in San Francisco. This person will be primarily responsible for the planning, coordination, and supervision of daily operations for both academic and summer programming. This includes implementation and supervision of clinical and non-clinical work-based learning placements with community partners, academic support and mentoring, and coordination of the wellness program for students. The Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all students meet the program expectations regarding training, performance, rules, and behavior. The Program Coordinator will work to guarantee that program materials are current and relevant, that operations run smoothly, and that open and regular communication exists with all program partners and stakeholders.

This is a regular full-time hybrid position that requires working remotely and in person at school sites in the San Francisco area.

Full salary range for this position: $62,968 to $90,167 per year. The typical hiring range is from $62,968 (minimum) to $76,568 (midpoint), based on 100% FTE.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate workplans and maintain daily oversight and evaluation of FACES for the Future students.
  • Act as a consistent mentor and caring adult for FACES students.
  • Provide leadership and project coordination for the FACES SF program.
  • Lead planning for special events and offsite experiences for students.
  • Develop, coordinate, maintain and evaluate work-based learning for FACES students.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with health professionals providing supervision.
  • Maintain and track student records including health clearances, attendance, and academics.
  • Work closely with education partners, including being present in the classroom.
  • Schedule and teach workshops for students focused on professional development, college preparation, and wellness.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders and partners, including families.
  • Coordinate and participate in community outreach efforts of the FACES for the Future program.
  • Coordinate FACES events including the Blue Coat Ceremony, Graduation, field trips, and other events.
  • Participate in events at local high schools designed to promote health pathways.
  • Responsible for recruiting students and coordinating all necessary steps for work-based learning.
  • Work with FACES Coalition leadership to coordinate the activities of the AmeriCorps VISTA member assigned to the SF site.
  • Maintain and organize adequate documentation, databases, and all program materials.
  • Participate in FACES Coalition team meetings as necessary.
  • Commute to various locations for community outreach and to attend meetings with health employer partners as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the FACES Coalition Program Manager and Deputy Director.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3 years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree, or substitute with four additional years of related experience.

Other Qualifications

  • Bi-lingual / Multi-lingual candidates highly preferred.
  • Experience with program implementation a plus.
  • General knowledge of current health care delivery systems.
  • Experience working with high school aged youth and under-represented youth populations.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple types of relationships in professional settings.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation and ability to commute to various locations.
  • Must be able to pass background checks required for this job.
