The position works within the Bayview YMCA Family Resource Center. The overall goal of the Family Advocate is to engage and connect families to needed resources and services to promote family stability and functioning, self-sufficiency, and wellness. Proactive engagement skills are essential in assisting and connecting the residents to utilizing community resources to support family stability. The position is specifically to provide coverage for our supervised visits. The Family Advocate supervises visits between children and birth family members and provides written notes of the family visits. This position work hours are from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 11:00 – 7:30pm. On occasions, there will be a need for Saturday coverage of a visit and/or tabling for special events and activities. Flexibility is a must.
