Qualifications

* High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST

academy and a Basic Course Certificate.

* Two or more years of active law enforcement experience.

* Eligible to be a peace officer in the State of California

* Possess a valid POST Certificate of Eligibility or a POST Basic Certificate in good standing.

* Completion of First Aid and CPR Certificate and Defensive Driving Course is required along with other training as assigned.

* Possession of a valid California Driver's License is required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

* Thorough knowledge and understanding of law enforcement methods and procedures, criminal codes and laws, and investigative techniques and procedures.

* Effective oral and written communication skills, including writing clear and comprehensive reports.

* Ability to work independently and make sound judgments

* Ability to provide effective leadership and direction to field personnel during assigned shift.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

* The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.

* Classification: Corporal / 8365 / Step 15-22

* The anticipated HIRING RANGE is $8,869 to $10,404 per month.

* HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational need.

* This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.

General Information

* The person holding this position may be considered a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements outlined in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
