Construction Manager manages all aspects of retail store construction including the planning, scope, budgeting, bidding, scheduling, pay application and invoicing review, and construction throughout the duration of a project. These duties will involve landlords, governmental agencies, architectural and engineering consultants, designers, material and service vendors, general and subcontractors relations as they relate to the project. This is a full-time, exempt position.

What You Will Do

* Manage the construction of new Peet's stores and remodels of existing locations.

* Oversee multiple projects in various locations simultaneously

* Select qualified contractors for competitive bidding, review and qualify bids, award the work.

* Manage construction costs within budget and maintain accurate project cost records, ensure invoices are approved and submitted in a timely manner

* Manage all timelines from project inception to project completion.

* Provide overall site management, coordination, planning, specification of business proposals and coordination of subcontractors

* Facilitate and team with Real Estate on due diligence evaluation of new site opportunities

* Facilitate and team with internal stakeholders regarding buildouts, IT readiness, and turnover to Peet's operations.

* Partner with teams tasked with transition of base building management and oversight of all turnover documentation

* Coach and guide all project teams (developers, design engineers, general contractors, sub-contractors, internal stakeholders) throughout the full project lifecycle

* Supply accurate and timely project status information to internal and external partners

* Conduct regular project management meetings to ensure projects are on-time and within approved budget parameters

* Manage the documentation of a project, archiving and specifications

* Review of designs for conformance to current building specifications

* Provide critical review of current design standards to identify value engineering and design enhancement opportunities to be considered by internal engineering and schematic design partners

Who You Are

* Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management; preferably in a multi-unit retail or restaurant.

* In-depth understanding of construction disciplines

* Superior organizational and time management skills

* Able to manage multiple projects remotely and simultaneously

* Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Outlook and Excel

* Positive, clear, concise, and transparent cross team communication for all aspects of project delivery

* Requires excellent negotiating, communication, and interpersonal skills

* Able to work well in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

* Team-oriented; able to build trust and rapport to work effectively in a cross-functional organization

* Strong attention to detail

* BS or BA required; preferably in construction management, engineering, or a related field

* Requires work in both a typical office environment and on-site at project locations

Peet's Home Office is a Hybrid worksite, which requires Home Office employees to work onsite 3 days per week.

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
