The Material Handling Generalist is capable of working in both the Receiving and Fulfillment functions.Responsibilities and DutiesReceivingProcessing incoming materials for receipt into inventory Records and checks quantity and quality of goods received Examines the receiving documents to ensure accuracy of the deliveryData entry into the WMS systemIssue materials to jobs and performs all transactions in the systemDocuments information related to material handling of goodsDelivers incoming items to appropriate department or recipientSigns for incoming shipments as receivedFulfillmentPulling materials to fulfill customer ordersPacking customer ordersData entry into the WMS system and shipping (UPS, FedEx, etc.) systemsKitting & collating materialsPreparing materials for shipment and providing necessary documentsComplete all tasks accurately and completely in order to meet internal/external customer requirementsInventoryCycle counting to verify accuracy on a regular basisVerifies clerical computations against physical count of stockGeneral Help in other areas as neededResponsible for making sure all warehouse doors, gates, containers, and docks are securedMaintain general housekeepingOrganizes and maintains warehouse and inventory for efficient material storage and handlingMaintains labeling system on each stock itemAble to work overtime as requiredMaintain daily checklist of lift equipmentPhysical DemandsThe employee is frequently required to sit, walk, talk, or hearUse of hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controlsFrequently lifts and/or moves up to 45 pounds and occasionally lifts and/or moves items up to 100 poundsAbility to handle heightsAble to pull/push more than 1500 pounds with a pallet jackTools and Equipment usedSeated forkliftReach forkliftOrder-pickerPallet jackHand truckSkid wrapper machineComputer terminalLabel and copy printerBox cuttersTape guns and dispensersScalesBanding equipment (metal/plastic)Barcode scannersPhoneWork EnvironmentWarehouse environmentMay occasionally work outside with cold/hot weatherExposed to fumes or airborne particles and chemicalsNoise level is usually moderate but occasionally highMay occasionally work near moving mechanical machinery
