We are seeking energetic team leaders for our Y-Kids Program. Y-Kids is a structured before and after school program that offers a great start and finish to every school day. Team Leaders support staff as they facilitate education and recreation opportunities, fun physical activities, healthy snacks, and positive reinforcement. With a strong focus on STEM, we encourage innovation, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and creativity in all our kids.
POSITION SUMMARY:
These general functions will be carried out in keeping with the Goals, Policies and Mission of the YMCA of the East Bay. The Site Director is responsible for the overall management and supervision of the program site and will plan, lead, and evaluate group experiences. This position operates at a specific school age site.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Plan and manage the daily operations of the licensed school age site. Responsible for administrative tasks, monthly budgets and financial reports, daily upkeep of the site and equipment, maintenance of required documentation and files. Keep the center clean and presentable at all times.
2.Ensure Licensing standards/regulations are met at all times.
3.Plan and implement high-quality programming that achieves the educational, administrative and service delivery goals and are culturally relevant.
4.Recruit, hire, train, develop, motivate, schedule and direct staff and volunteers as needed.
5.Coach and train staff, monitor and evaluate staff performance and ensure staff have a professional development plan.
6.Maintain positive relationships and work collaboratively with administration, families, school teachers and staff at the school site(s) to best serve the needs on the children and families.
7.Provide support for administrative staff to collect/report data required monthly and quarterly and annually as required by the contract(s) and/or grant(s).
8.Monitor and report on achievement of project outcome goals and objectives.
9.Promote and maintain enrollment at capacity.
10. Maintain required program files, records and reports.
11. Provide appropriate and consistent discipline methods that reinforce positive behaviors in an age appropriate manner.
12. Report and document notable behavior and situations according to policies and procedures.
13. Positively explain and interpret program standards and policies. Provide ongoing and continuous feedback to parents regarding their child's development, including parent conferences and assessments.
14. Lead with a positive example in conduct and communication, maintaining a physically, emotionally and socially healthy environment for participants.
15. Address student and parent concerns and respond promptly.
16. Attend and actively participate in regular program activities, department trainings, staff meetings and special events as scheduled.
17. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•AA Degree, BA/BS degree preferred
•Meets educational and experience qualifications established by CA state law and Community Care Licensing including 24 ECE units, 16 GE units, 6 administration units, 15 hours health and safety or alternative qualifications on CDP
•3 years related experience in school-based learning
•A high degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practice with children and families
•Experience in collaborative meeting facilitation, problem solving, and team building
•Strong interpersonal and supervision skills of a diverse, highly-skilled workforce
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Ability to negotiate and mediate to attain win-win situations
•Pre-employment health screening and TB clearance
•Current certificates for Pediatric First Aid and CPR, including a total of 15 hours of preventative health and safety training or completion of this training within 90 days of hire
•LiveScan fingerprint and criminal record clearance
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and other computer programs necessary to perform the duties of the job
