The Marin Yacht Club is a growing organization located on a 28-acre private island. Amenities include a 115 slip marina, Club House, Rec Center, Tennis and Pickleboard, Bocce Court, small boats fleet, Harbormasters House on site and food service four days per week.

Founded in 1935, the Club is seeking a General Manager.

Operational responsibilities include:

administration

hospitality

Staffing & scheduling

facilities maintenance,

safety,

project management

Vendor management

Maintain regulatory compliance with labor laws, beverage alcohol regulations and standard yacht club practices

Financial Responsibilities include:

Working with the Treasurer and Finance team developing and annual budget

Monitoring and analyzing financial performance and making needed adjustment

Managing procurement processes, inventory

Optimizing service

Event Planning and Coordination:

Collaborate with Committee Chairs and Culinary Team to develop social events

Coordinate catering events and Cruise-ins

Maintain Club Calendar

Membership Services include:

Increase Member satisfaction

Oversight of all Food and Beverage operations

Act as primary contact for Members

Maintain industry relationships

Strategize continued Membership growth

Maintain Membership files

Board of Directors Relations:

Attend Board meeting and report on operations

o Include financial performance

Collaborate on a Long Range Plan

Coordinate with BOD and Chairs making best use of resources

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in a managerial role within the hospitality or yacht club industry.
• 5+ years of proven hospitality management of teams
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial analysis.
• Knowledge of yachting culture, practices, and regulations.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and club management software.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The Yacht Club General Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the club's reputation, fostering member satisfaction, and ensuring its long-term success. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of managerial expertise, hospitality experience, and a passion for yachting.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading a team and managing the daily operation of the business. They will be responsible for maintaining the standard of work from employees as well as onboarding and hiring new team members.
